BHF London to Brighton Bike Ride

On Sunday 15 June 2025, Another Level will be taking part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride. This page will be used to coordinate our itinerary for the day.

Rider packs are being sent out now, you may have already received yours.

Transport to the Start Line

The start line for the event is at Clapham Common. All of our start times are either 07:00 or 07:30. We have planned two options for getting to the start:

Option 1: Group Ride from Oak Hill Park

We will meet at TBD in Oak Hill Park at the usual meeting spot. We have planned a route that avoids hills and heavy traffic and we are allowing plenty of time (see bottom of the page for route details).

Option 2: Drive and Park

If you feel that the ride to the start line will be too taxing on top of the main event, then you may choose to drive with your bike to the Clapham area. Bear in mind that some roads in the area will be closed, and parking will be in high demand — you may be able to reserve a place in advance with JustPark. If this is your choice, please arrange it individually and meet us at the start line in Clapham Common.

Transport from Brighton back to London

Bikes will not be allowed on trains on 15 June

BHF offer a return service but it is expensive — £55 on top of the entry fee — and will only return you to Clapham Common.

Mandy's husband has kindly offered the use of his van, which is large enough to carry all of the bikes. After the event, the bikes will be loaded into his van and taken back to Barnet. Therefore it will only be necessary to get back to London as a passenger. We recommend purchasing a Super Off-Peak single train ticket, currently £17.40, which will allow you to take any train back.

Equipment and Baggage

Essential equipment for the day:

Bike (hopefully this is obvious);
Helmet (the event organisers will NOT allow you to ride the course without one);
Spare inner tubes and the tools to change them;
Water bottle, which can be refilled at any of the rest stops.

We do not recommend carrying anything on the ride that you don't need during the ride! If you would like to have a change of clothes and shoes available at the end, please prepare a bag and give it to Angela or Mandy by Saturday 14 June at the latest.

Post-Event

Depending on finishing times, we will hopefully go for a celebratory meal in Brighton before heading back to London!
